Hello Class 1 π
On Friday we are having a no screen day. That means I can't use my laptop, or the board in the classroom all day...which sadly means no zooming. However, I am very excited for our first zoom back after half term so I can hear all about your week off! π
You all will have been sent a letter with some ideas about how you could use this day, with the day split into five main sections, or hours. These are:
Making Hour
Genius Hour
Book Hour
Fitness Hour
Giving Hour
Have a look at the ideas provided on the '50 Activities' sheet and choose one or more from each category. Of course you may have some better ideas, so you can choose to do those instead if you like!
Here are a few more ideas.
Epic Sandwich design/making - 'Maker or Giving Hour'
Secret Code - 'Genius Hour'
Cardboard Creativity - 'Maker Hour' (This is a huge document with about 50 different ways of making things with cardboard and other household materials so you may want to choose a favourite ahead of time if you choose this activity!)
Have lots of fun and have a wonderful half term everyone!

Hello all,
As you may be aware, some classes are now giving out merit marks (stamps for your chart). When lockdown started, it was agreed as a school that we would not be awarding stamps until children return. However this now seems to have changed, so we had better get stamping!
I will be awarding all children 6 stamps each for super work and effort so far this term across the curriculum.
If you have achieved 9/10 or 10/10 for your spelling tests at home, you may award yourself a stamp for each test that this has been achieved.
Going forward, I will be emailing to let you know if you have achieved a stamp for your work that you send in. We will start this after half-term.
Over the next two days, I will compile a list of how many stamps you each have on your chart already, with the certificate number you are working towards. I am hoping to do this as a class list for those at home, with everyone accessing the same list. This would mean you finding your name, (or child's name) and looking to see how many you have. You will then have your own chart at home to stamp/sticker/draw on and then would send in a photo of your completed chart ready for a certificate.
I will update this blog with the list and a blank certificate attachment ready to start this after half term by the end of the day tomorrow.
I hope this makes sense!

Hello everyone!
As promised, here is a video of me expressing myself and doing something I enjoy. I love a challenge and trying to learn any new skills that are sport related and this is my new challenge for this week! It's how I keep my head and heart healthy.
How are you expressing yourself? Are you going for long walks? Playing in the garden? Being creative? Maybe learning an instrument?
Send in your photos/videos of you doing something you love and I will add it to this blog post!
Scroll down to see the latest additions...
Here we have Lila doing something that makes her happy - playing with sticks and water with Freddie at the park! π Click on this link to see Ila expressing herself and doing something she enjoys - jumping through a hula hoop on a trampoline! Very impressive! π Next we have Heather! She has been jumping on the trampoline, and being creative. Look at that beautiful watercolour painting! π¨ |
Click on this link to see George expressing himself. He’s playing a piece on his violin called ‘Theme’ by Mahler. George started learning the violin in pre-school & his grandad teaches him, though their lessons have been on zoom since March. How amazing is that! π»
Next up, we have Ellie! She is riding her bike - very well I might add. Ellie loves going out on her bicycle with her sister Naomi, and having races down the road. She is also going to start skipping after seeing my video! I'm really excited to see that Ellie! π
Click on this link for some more brilliant, musical creativity from Arabella! Here she is playing her guitar! She has been learning for a few months and is really enjoying it. I particularly love how happy you are when you're playing! Well done! πΈ
Click on this link to see Teddy performing some rather impressive street dancing at home. Teddy takes part in weekly street dance lessons - a great way to stay fit, healthy and happy! πΊπ Well done Teddy!
Next we have Jackson who has been skipping and doing all sorts of impressive tricks on the trampoline! He he wanted to show us his front flip twist but it’s been raining - I hope to see it soon when the weather clears up! π Click on this link to see Ned singing a song he made up! I absolutely love the lyrics - they really show he is expressing himself while thinking about others during Children's Mental Health Week. Well done Ned! π΅ |
