**Children’s Mental Health Week

This week is Children’s Mental Health Week and the theme for the week is ‘Express Yourself’.

We know it’s really important to look after ourselves mentally and physically and to be aware of when we or others might need help. Expressing ourselves is just one way to help us feel good and this can be done in many different ways – writing, art, music, design, cooking, dance, coding. You don’t have to be good, you just need to enjoy yourself!!

We’ll be starting the week with an assembly to get us thinking about how we like to express ourselves or maybe what we’d like to have a go at in the future.

There will be activities to try on class blogs and we’ll be asking you to share some of the ways that you express yourself.

REMEMBER TO CHECK OUT OUR WELL-BEING BLOG IF YOU NEED ANY SUPPORT OR ACTIVITY IDEAS. There are also pupil and parent pages with information about mental health.**

Chef Hat Making Links

 

Hello all,

Here are some links for making a chef hat for your pizza making. These are just a few ways - there may be others that you prefer!

This is an optional extra and not technically the 'curriculum', but it's fun!

Very simple - headband style

Simple - please excuse the music track... - this one will need an A3 piece of paper/two A4 pieces stuck together length ways prior to starting the folding and cutting.

Very effective - but time consuming and adult guidance needed - you could use tissue paper if you didn't have baking parchment.

You might want to name/decorate your hat after!

Virtual History Session Information - Wednesday 27th January

 

Hello all,

As you will be aware, our History session on Wednesday is going to be hosted by someone else...🧸🚜 This is a trial session, so please bear with everyone involved. I hope it will be a fun experience.

Hopefully you have all had an email containing a zoom meeting link, but if not, please contact the office and let them know. When you join, please could you mute yourselves just so I can complete a register. 

As part of the session, we will talk about different materials toys are made from. It would be great if the children could have these for the session. Below are the materials and some possible examples.

Metal- e.g. a teaspoon

Wood- e.g. a spoon or Jenga block or wooden building block

Fabric- e.g. clothing or soft toy

China- e.g. a mug or plate

Paper/ cardboard- e.g. plain paper, a notepad

Plastic- e.g. at oy or plastic cup

You will also need a favourite teddy/soft toy.

Please note there will not be a zoom story following the session, as we will need to complete the rest of the days tasks in that time.

I hope you've had a fun weekend and are ready for another week of home learning! 

Below are your learning tasks for Monday.

Monday - Learning Tasks

Don't forget to join us on Zoom to chat through the activities for the day! We will start at 9:20am, but I will open the meeting a few minutes early to allow for technical issues... I will probably chat for 10 minutes or so, and then there will be an opportunity for children to ask questions about the tasks. 

After that, I will be around to answer any queries from parents via the new class1@ email address until 12pm. Please remember to send in photos of your brilliant work in one email at the end of the day for me to look at. I will give general feedback on work from the day before during the morning zoom if appropriate.
